The Longest Night Season 2: When Will Season 2 Be Renewed?
The latest Netflix thriller is The Longest Night, which combines parts of Prison Break and La Casa de Papel into a high-octane, breathless show.
If you’ve already seen this one, you might wonder if it’s still going or has been canceled or renewed. Keep reading, and we’ll tell you what we know about renewals so far!
What Is the Story of the Longest Night?
The story is simple, but the conflict has more than one level. Simon, a serial killer, is at the center of this. He is picked up in the middle of the night and taken to a psychiatric prison called Baruca. On the day before Christmas, Warden Hugo is called to process him.
Hugo and the others don’t know that armed mercenaries hired by a mysterious contractor with his plans for the night are coming to take Simon alive.
Hugo’s situation is already dangerous, but it gets even worse when he finds out that his other daughter, Laura, is being held for ransom. They will kill her if they don’t hear from Simon at 1 am. Hugo has to choose between the lives of his family and the people inside the prison.

Is There Going to Be a Second Season of the Longest Night?
The Longest Night has not been picked up for a second season as of this writing. Given how it ends, though, this one almost begs for a second part since nothing is resolved.
Before renewing a show, Netflix usually looks at several factors, such as how many people watch it at first and how many stop watching each episode. Some shows are canceled or renewed in a short amount of time (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars). Sometimes, it can take months for Netflix to decide what to do with a show.
So far, critics and audiences have had mixed things to say about The Longest Night. This one moves at a breakneck pace, and it’s not clear if people will connect with the characters or not.
We think The Longest Night will not be renewed for a second season because it is similar to shows like La Casa de Papel, which is still on air through its Korean remake.
We’ll make sure to add new information to this section as it comes in.
The Longest Night’ What Does the Show’s Plot Have to Do With?
We meet an old man in the middle of his favorite thing to do: he is a psychopathic serial killer who is always looking for new victims. He kills them in different ways and puts their bodies in holes he digs in the ground. On Christmas night, a man named Simon Lago just finished slitting the throat of a store cashier when he got a phone call telling him that the police were coming to his house to arrest him.
Lago, on the other hand, seems ready, as he calmly deletes some files from his phone and then walks out to meet the police. Because the murderer was well-known for killing at least 20 people and cutting up their bodies, he was called “The Alligator.” When he was caught, the news spread quickly because it was shown on all news channels.
As the police drive around with Lago in custody, they get a sudden order from higher-ups to take him to an old psychiatric prison called Baruca instead of the usual city prison. This arrest and the change in plans that followed it led to a series of important phone calls.
Hugo, Barca’s police warden, and Lennon, a man with a tough face, were among the people who got these calls. Hugo drives to the prison with his teenage daughter Alicia and his young son Guilla while Lennon seems to be getting a group of men ready for some serious work.
Hugo wanted all three of his children to come with him when he had to leave the family Christmas party because of an emergency professional call, but his oldest daughter Laura said no. Instead, she went alone to see her divorced mother.
When Hugo gets to Baruca, he meets his own team of police officers: the tough head of security, Bastos; block officials Willy and Diego; police officer Macarena, who comes to provide extra security for the night; and the head doctors of the psychiatric facility, Elisa and Espada.
Even though Baruca is only supposed to hold Simon Lago for one night before he is moved to a different prison, Hugo starts to feel uneasy, especially when the murderer calls him by his name, which no prisoner should know. Soon after, Hugo gets a video message from Laura in which she is kidnapped and forced to hold a note that says she will be killed if Hugo gives Simon to the bad guys.
Even though the situation isn’t clear, a big group of cars drives up to Baruca, jammers cut off all communication and power in the prison, and Lennon leads a large group of masked men toward the prison gates. They are very clear about what they want and say that they are only here to take Simon Lago with them, either peacefully or by force if they are stopped. Hugo goes to Simon’s cell and finds out that the man already knows about the plan, and as he says coldly, a long night of terrors begins.
What We Know About Season 2 So Far
Since Netflix hasn’t approved a second season yet, we don’t know much about it.
But if the extensive streaming services decide to keep this one going, it’s clear that all of these plot points will continue. Will Raquel give birth to her child in prison? Will Laura get through her trouble? How will Simon do while he’s in jail? And now that Manuela knows Espada is still alive, what will she do?

Even with all these questions, we’re going out on a limb and guessing that The Longest Night won’t survive the summer and there won’t be a second season. We will try to update this page when we have more information!
When Does Season 2 of “The Night Will Be Long” Come Out on Netflix?
On July 8, 2022, the first season will be over. There have been no announcements about the second season of “The Longest Night” being renewed.
But since the first season ends on a cliffhanger and raises more questions than it answers, the show’s creators plan to keep it going.
There’s a good chance the show will be picked up for a second season in the coming months if it does well. If the show gets a second season, it should be on Netflix by the end of 2023 if it gets renewed.
What Do You Think Will Happen Next?
In the last episode of Season 1, Hugo makes a last-ditch effort to save Baruca from her attackers and gets in touch with Rosa and Andrés to prove that Simón is still alive. Even though the bullet doesn’t hit Laura, the stress makes her heart condition worse.

Simón seems to save the other two children, Elisa and Hugo, by killing one of the attackers. Hugo and Lennon figure out that someone is helping Simón from the outside as the police arrive.
Rosa and Andrés already have the drugs, so Laura should make it through Season 2 of The Longest Night.
The man with long hair might go to Baruca to talk to the people he sent there. The truth about Simon’s help could come out. If Manuela feels betrayed, she might try to kill Cherokee.
