The immensely popular podcast Call Her Daddy by Alex Cooper is switching from Spotify to SiriusXM.
Since the company’s founding in 2018, Call Her Daddy has undergone a number of significant transitions, but Cooper’s agreement to switch from Spotify to SiriusXM is the largest to date.
As was the case with many entertainment businesses, Call Her Daddy started off as a “sex and advice” podcast that was well-known for its honest attitude. However, the epidemic unintentionally affected the show’s evolution:

Call Her Daddy Has An Amazing Deal With SiriusXM
When Call Her Daddy first aired in 2018, Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklyn were its hosts.
Call Her Daddy and Dave Portnoy’s Barstool Sports signed a three-year deal that same year, but it later turned into a public “fight” over the company’s survival.
The podcast’s hosts felt underpaid due to its sudden fame and profitability, according to an attorney’s analysis of the original dispute between Call Her Daddy and Barstool, which also described the “sides” of the argument:
One thing to keep in mind is that this arrangement was established prior to ‘Call Her Daddy’ being successful. Because of this, Cooper and Franklyn would initially have very limited negotiating leverage, which would place them at a disadvantage.

Following this, Sofia Franklyn quit the podcast and subsequently claimed that Alex had “betrayed” her.
In an interview published in July of last year, Rolling Stone summarized the parties, the feud, and Franklyn’s breakup with Cooper.
“The two co-hosts, who were best friends and roommates, had a dramatic split that caused a rift among program viewers and provoked a lot of criticism online.
“At the time, Cooper and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy made public their disapproval of Franklyn by openly attributing most of the blame for the ‘Call Her Daddy’ deal’s collapse.
According to the story, Franklyn was pitching the program to other media outlets alongside her ex-boyfriend, HBO Sports executive vice president Peter Nelson. During the renegotiations, Portnoy even went so far as to label the women as “unprofessional, disloyal, and greedy.”
Cooper ultimately chose to remain with Barstool, causing a rift between the two women and resulting in the end of both their podcast and their friendship.
Call Her Daddy left Barstool in June 2021 after reaching a $60 million agreement with Spotify, which gave the streamer exclusive access to the well-liked podcast.
In a press release released on August 20, SiriusXM revealed that it has acquired Call Her Daddy and declared:
“SiriusXM and global podcast powerhouse Alex Cooper inked a new multi-year contract.”
“The agreement includes a thorough programming development plan for SiriusXM-only content, which is anticipated to launch in 2025.
Together with Unwell’s well-liked schedule of shows, it also grants SiriusXM exclusive access to material, events, and advertising for Cooper’s main podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” as well as the audio entertainment company’s industry-leading SiriusXM Podcast Network.
Although SiriusXM stated that the agreement was “multi-year,” it omitted to state how much it was worth overall.
Alex provided a screenshot of a headline estimating the value of SiriusXM’s Call Her Daddy deal at approximately $125 million, implying that the amount is at least in that range even though the exact amount has not been revealed.
