Anti-Trump advocacy
Following Bush’s resignation from the 2016 Republican Party presidential primaries, where he gained notoriety by disparaging Trump supporters with whom he appeared on-air, Miller joined the Our Principles PAC, an anti-Trump super PAC. Miller attracted media attention when he revealed he had given money to Doug Jones, the Democratic challenger to Republican nominee and alleged sex offender Roy Moore in the 2017 special election for the United States Senate in Alabama to fill Jeff Sessions’ seat. This was after Trump’s unexpected victory as president.

Miller worked as the political director of Republican Voters Against Trump, an advocacy group that in 2020 featured longtime Republicans describing why they chose to support former vice president Joe Biden over Trump in television and online advertising. Miller has been labelled as a supporter of Never Trump. The Washington Post included him among the Republicans “who despise Donald Trump the most.” Miller made his decision to leave the Republican Party public in November 2020.
