Jana Duggar Marries Her Fiancé Stephen Wissmann in an Elegant and Classic Arkansas Ceremony

Two months after becoming engaged, Jana Duggar of Counting On and her fiancé Stephen Wissmann tied the knot.

On Thursday, August 15, the couple wed in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, in front of 500 guests in a “classic” and “elegant” ceremony, according to People.

“I believe it is something that every girl dreams of doing someday,” Jana, 34, said to the publication prior to her special day.

It seemed to me that it would never arrive. However, it’s beginning to click now,” she said. “Reality is beginning to bite now. And I think, “Wow, this is really what I’ve been dreaming of.” And it’s amazing and a little difficult to believe to watch it happen. It is indeed a dream realized.

Jessa Duggar Seewald served as the maid of honor for the wedding, which was held at The Grand at Willow Springs. Abbie Duggar, Jana’s sister-in-law, and the bridesmaids Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, and Jordyn Duggar were also part of the wedding party.

Jana was escorted down the aisle by her father, Jim Bob Duggar, wearing an off-the-shoulder ivory satin ball gown that she described as feeling “classy and bit like princess.”

Due to the size of their families—Wissmann is one of 13 siblings, while Diggar is one of 19, the couple felt that having all of their loved ones present on their special day was essential.

As members of two larger families, Jana said to People, “We love to be able to get together and celebrate moments like these.” It simply means a lot to have them all there.

Following reports of an engagement that initially surfaced in July, In Touch revealed earlier on Thursday that the couple had applied for a marriage license. This news led to the announcement of the wedding.

The 31-year-old Wissmann and Jana were first seen together in 2020. The reality TV actress posted pictures of herself with a ring on her left hand on Instagram in July 2024, which stoked suspicions of an impending engagement.

As soon as they noticed the jewelry, Jana’s admirers asked her about her relationship status in the comments area. “A ring for engagement?!” Did I overlook something? wrote one person.

“This definitely has to be an engagement ring,” said another. A third admirer enquired, “Is that Jana’s hand holding an engagement ring? I sincerely hope so.

Jana had previously stated to Us Weekly in July 2020 that, despite her desire to settle down, she was “not that worried” about finding her person.

Yes, I do hope to be married someday, but I also believe that… At the time, she spoke exclusively to Us and said, “I’m just trying to stay busy with whatever comes along my path.”

Jana is Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s eldest daughter. She co-starred with her family in the 2008–2015 season of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting On, as well as the 2015–2020 spinoff Counting On.
