Jennifer Lopez Submits Request to Remove ‘Affleck’ From Her Last Name, Reveals Grounds for Divorce

In light of her and Ben Affleck’s divorce, Jennifer Lopez wishes to remove the “Affleck” from her last name.

The 55-year-old Lopez asked for her name to be changed back to Jennifer Lynn Lopez in fresh court filings that were received by Us Weekly on Thursday, August 21.

The “Jenny From the Block” singer also stated that irreconcilable disagreements were the cause of her and Affleck’s breakup. According to the documents, Lopez added that neither she nor Affleck, 52, wanted to receive spousal support.

Lopez added that although the “exact nature and extent” of communal and quasi-community property are not known at this time and “will be determined,” she wishes to divide their assets and debts.

Us revealed that Lopez filed for divorce from the actor from Instigators on August 20. When the Hustlers actress filed for divorce in August 2022, two years after she and Affleck celebrated their Georgia wedding, she did so directly to a Los Angeles court rather than via an attorney.
