Bad Batch Season 2: Release Date, Where to Watch?, Interview With Composer Kevin Kiner!

The Star Wars prequel animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch features 16 episodes. The series premiered on Disney+ with a feature-length episode (“Aftermath”) on Star Wars Day (May 4, 2021). A second episode premiered on May 7, and subsequent episodes aired every Friday.

Dave Filoni and Jennifer Corbett served as showrunners, and Brad Rau was the series’s executive producer for the animated Star Wars series they developed. Filoni, Corbett, Rau, and Athena Yvette Portillo served as executive producers, while Josh Rimes handled production.

Bad Batch Season 2

Plot

The Clone Wars had some great plot lines that veered into the political thriller genre, so news of these plots is very exciting. The prequel trilogy as a whole included elements of that genre to a notable degree, so it makes sense for The Bad Batch to do the same.

Season 2 of Clone Wars should live up to the promise of Ahsoka’s “Wrong Jedi” arc, which also drew heavily from Hitchcock and is widely considered to be one of the show’s best stories. There will be many rebels in the early days of the Empire who want to topple Palpatine and his cronies. Although Clone Force 99 is currently a contract killing outfit, the seeds of a clone uprising and the belief in a rebellion against the Empire were planted in Season 1.

It’s likely that the group will come to Coruscant because they’ve decided to support a political cause or someone affiliated with one for the sake of the story. Despite its obvious visual appeal, this will only be the second time Coruscant has been featured in a Star Wars film since Disney’s purchase. In Season 7 of The Clone Wars, Ahsoka went on a walkabout, and while she did visit the underworld, nothing else significant has happened on the capital world (unless one counts the five-second flashback in Rogue One).

There will be little change to the planet’s portrayal in the early days of the Empire despite the fact that it was originally intended for Episode IX but was ultimately scrapped. If Coruscant is going to play a role, then the returning characters will probably have some significance to the plot.

Given Bail Organa’s rising prominence in the Rebel Alliance, it’s not hard to imagine that he might run into the Bad Batch at some point. Since Rex has been seen on Rebels but hasn’t retired just yet, the chances of Ahsoka making an appearance are high. Although the world Clone Force 99 operates in is perilous, it seems they will have support.

Composer Kevin Kiner Interview With the Convor Call

Composer Kevin Kiner told The Convor Call that Season 2 of The Bad Batch would feature a slightly older version of Omega.

You could say that Omega has aged a touch in Season 2, but not too much.

Also, Sean Kiner teased a political thriller and alluded to film noir music in the vein of Hitchcock’s works.

I can’t wait for people to see the neat political storylines we’ve been working on… our direction is always genre.

He recently revealed that while writing music for the return of Coruscant, he was inspired by John Williams:

“This morning, I was putting the finishing touches on a Coruscant set. It’s just an establishing shot, and we’ve seen Coruscant many times before, but I find myself thinking, “I really have to channel John [Williams] a little more than I’ve been doing right here,” because the scene calls for John Williams’ signature style.”

Dean Kiner hinted that more recurring characters would be making appearances:

I’ll admit that Season 2 has a larger cast.
