The Masked Singer US season 8: When It Will Be Renewed?

The Masked Singer, an iconic Fox mystery singing competition, is back for its eighth season. Differentiating itself from other singing competitions, The Masked Singer has celebrity guests performing while disguised in outrageous and one-of-a-kind costumes.

Each week, viewers cast votes to determine who stays on the show and who gets eliminated. As a result, the candidate’s identity with the fewest votes is made public. Since they can’t be identified, it’s up to the audience and the judges to guess who’s inside.

Season 8 of The Masked Singer details are as follows.

The Masked Singer Season 8 Release Date

According to whattowatch, On Wednesday, September 21 at 8 pm ET/PT, season 8 of The Masked Singer will premiere. When Lego Masters airs at 9 pm ET/PT, this is the show that comes before it.

The New Format of the Masked Singer Season 8

In season 8, The Masked Singer will drastically alter its concept by adopting a King of the Hill-style competition.

The new format consists of three separate three-episode “rounds,” with the winner advancing to the next round. Each episode will feature three contestants, with one being eliminated early on. The remaining two will then engage in a “Battle Royale,” at the conclusion, one will be unmasked and the other will advance. Each episode will feature a different group of masked singers, with a maximum of three or four performers per show.

Craig Plestis, the show’s executive producer, recently discussed the alterations with Entertainment Weekly (opens in new tab). “So there are the [first] three episodes, we get a king or queen. After these next three episodes, we’ll have a new monarch. If you wait for three more episodes, you’ll be crowned a new monarch. That’s how we narrow it down to the final three for the quarterfinals,” he said.

Each episode will have a specific theme, which will be reflected in the evening’s dress code, set design, and even the songs played. All of this may provide clues as to the true identities of the masked vocalists. “We’ve upped the ante a little bit with these themes to make it simpler for the home audience to play along. It’s useful for the clues and the guessing games no matter what the theme is, whether it’s a night in Las Vegas or a night with some other kind of theme.
