Wheel of Time Season 2 Release Date: We Don’t Know for Sure When It Will Come!

The wheel will continue to turn. The second season of Amazon’s fantasy shows The Wheel of Time has just finished filming. To celebrate, the show released a behind-the-scenes teaser video. It gives hints about some new places and big fight scenes. Oh, and there’s news about how the show’s second season will be different from the first.

Season 2 of The Wheel of Time was bought by Prime Video before the show even started. The series divided longtime fans based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling books, but it seemed to be popular enough to warrant more episodes. When the first season came out last November, half of the new season had already been filmed.

Moiraine, played by Rosamund Pike, is a member of the Aes Sedai, an influential group of women who can use magic. She goes to a small village to find a person who is said to save or destroy the world. As the Last Battle with the Dark One gets closer, Moiraine takes five young villagers on a dangerous journey to new lands to find out which of them is the Dragon that was predicted.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 Release Date Speculation

We don’t know when The Wheel of Time season 2 will start, but it could be anytime between November 2022 and early 2023. The series began filming in July 2021, and showrunner Rafe Judkins has given hints about what will happen next.

Season 2 was finished filming in May 2022. With a show of this size, we expect the editing process to take a long time. Most estimates say that the post-production stage will take at least six months.

The most-watched Amazon Prime show of 2021 probably won’t return until after the first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. This show will end in the middle of October, and the studio probably doesn’t want two big fantasy shows to air simultaneously.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 Cast

Season 2 of “The Wheel of Time” will start adding many more characters, keeping the show accurate to the books. Except for one person, most of the main cast will return. Barney Harris, who played the shady Mat Cauthon, left the show in the middle of season 1 for unknown reasons, making the last two episodes awkward.

Deadline says that Dónal Finn (The Witcher, Chasing Bono) will replace him as the fan-favorite character in The Wheel of Time.

The latest rumor about who will play Elyas Machera in Season 2 of Wheel of Time is that he will be the one who meets Perrin and Egwene on the road. No one has made the news official yet. WoTSeries said that actor Gary Beadle, who was thought to be playing the part, now has it on his resume on the company’s website, which represents Lou Coulson Associates.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 Plot

The official Twitter account for The Wheels of Time tweeted that the first episode is “A Taste of Solitude.” This is the name of a chapter in the sixth book of the series.

But Rafe Judkins said on the Empire Spoiler Special Film Podcast that Season 2 will combine plots from Book Two, “The Great Hunt,” and Book Three, “The Dragon Reborn.”

These won’t be exact copies of the books. Instead, they will be woven together to fit better on TV. The season will have the same number of episodes as the first season: eight. Moiraine and Lan also have more screen time than they do in the books since they only appear in one chapter of book two. This would waste Rosamund Pike and Daniel Henney’s skills and charm.

With Brandon Sanderson, co-author of the last three books, and Robert Jordan’s widow, Harriet, Judkins talked to Nerdist about how he changed parts of the first book’s ending. Maybe make the stories better and create something that Jordan would have liked.

This meant making changes to the original ending, which was very confusing, like adding other characters to the fight between Rand and The Dark One at the Eye of the World.

Everything happened at the same time. The story was changed so that the other actors had more to do and could do some of his work in the final battle. This makes us wonder if the five possible dragons will meet up again in the next series, and if so, how.

There is also a big question about whether we will see more of the world from 3,000 years ago when the original prophecies were made. At the beginning of episode 8, we quickly look at a future world with flying cars. This world is more science fiction than fantasy. Will there be more of this world in the next episodes? How did they get from there to where they are now?

Where Can I Watch the Wheel of Time Season 2

The second season of The Wheel of Time is only available on the streaming service Prime Video, just like the first season.

Is the Wheel of Time Being Renewed for Season 3?

The panel for The Wheel of Time at San Diego Comic-Con revealed that Amazon has already renewed the show for a third season, even though we still don’t know when season 2 will start.

“I’m so excited that we’ll be making a third season of The Wheel of Time,” said the showrunner, Rafe Judkins. The Shadow Rising has always been my favorite book in the series. Being able to bring it to TV and show new people the stories that made me fall in love with these books in the first place is such an honor, and it’s something I’ve been working toward since I first pitched the show years ago.
