Africa News says that on January 17, 2023, Ruslan Obiang Nsue was arrested and put under house arrest on suspicion of selling a plane that belonged to the country’s national airline.
When the National Company Ceiba Intercontinental’s ATR 72-500 plane went missing, the government started looking into it.
The East African confirmed ATR 72-500 is a turboprop made by the French-Italian company ATR in the late 1980s. It can carry up to 74 people.
TVGE said that Ruslan sold the ATR plane to the company Binter Technic, which is based in Las Palmas on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria. Binter Technic is an aviation maintenance company.

Ruslan Obiang Nsue, the son of the president of Equatorial Guinea, was arrested after he was accused of selling a government plane.
After the investigation, his half-brother, Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, ordered him to be arrested right away and turned him over to the law. He did this because he thought Ruslan was the one who sold Ceiba’s ATR.
