Uhsaa: Take a Look at All Information of Site?

On Wednesday, December 16, a public hearing from districts and schools about how member schools should be put into regions. In addition to the hearing, the UHSAA Board of Trustees has been getting a lot of emails about the realignment of member schools over the past few weeks.

The Board of Trustees decided on December 17 to put member schools into regions. This gave schools and areas time to plan and organize for the two-year alignment period. In the fall of 2021, the first fights under the new rules will take place.

The alignment will be based on enrollment data that is less than a year old. If the alignment period is only two years instead of four, changes can be made more often as enrollment changes at different schools. The UHSAA Board of Trustees is still in charge of ensuring that all member schools are in line with each other.

About the Utah High School Activities Association (Uhsaa)

The UHSAA is run by a 15-person Board of Trustees, which is made up of elected school board members, superintendents, and principals from all over Utah, as well as a representative from a charter school, a representative from a private school, and a representative from the state board of education.

The organization is committed to emphasizing educational and cultural values, improving the experience of participating in activities, promoting life skills and lessons learned through competitive activities, fostering sportsmanship and mutual respect, and helping those who run high school sports and activities in UHSAA member high schools.
