Our approach
Most business reporting tells you what happened. Comparatively little explains why it happened, or why the mechanism matters the next time a similar event occurs. We concentrate on the second kind of journalism: durable explanation that remains useful after the news cycle has moved on.
That means we prioritise accuracy over speed. When we describe how a policy instrument or an accounting treatment works, we check it against primary sources — central bank documentation, regulatory filings, accounting standards, and official statistical releases — rather than against other coverage.
